Hey guys,
This post echoes the What are the problems with the EOS Mainnet? post, in which benobi mentions how complex EOS is, especially for newcomers (account creation, ressource management, …). This is to me a critical issue because it discourages many people to use EOS and it’s a shame because EOS has many great dapps that people don’t even get to the point of trying them.
While some solutions are on the way (Metamask on EOS, …) to make EOS simpler for the lambda user, I feel like we also need to optimize the way we guide newcomers and make sure they find the information they need as easy as possible. I still see too many people crying for help on tg on how to create an account, which wallet to choose, etc etc.
I created a Tg group Telegram: Join Group Chat called MEEGA (Make EOS Experience Great Again) where we could put ourself in the newcomers shoes and share our ideas on how to optimize their (and also our) experience with the tools currently available. After agreeing on some changes we could expose them to the whole community and move from there.
Here are some ideas I have and would like to have your opinions on :
- Benefits of moving to Discord instead of telegram like Wax did (or using both)
- Identify all the guides and tutorials available today (on reddit, YT, forum, …) and find ways to optimize them + make them more easily findable
- Identify all the recurrent issues faced when using the mainnet (error messages like “billed CPU”, account creation, node switch, voting, …) and create (or optimize existing) detailed FAQs about those
Feel free to join us if you have some great ideas and want to express your opinions, even if you are a complete newbie who reads this post and wants to give a feedback of his user experience. We would also love to have admins of the tg groups to join us and share their point of view on these topics.
Cheers,
Azzipigi
