Wanting to warn people out there, I requested some help to unstake my EOS. I was contacted by what I thought was EOS support in a DM. The person appeared very helpful and then recommend I set up a Scatter wallet and provided a link, I realised the website was fake only by checking the actual Scatter website and seeing an additional hyphen in the URL. Unfortunately it was too late as I has already entered my Private Key, I know I should never ever give out my private key. I was lulled into trusting this person and now have had all of my EOS transferred out of my account. I am left with nothing. Please watch out for this scam.
EOS Support agents will never give you support through private messages.
